When we recognize our contribution to the situation, no matter the outcome, it is empowering.  If the outcome is negative, the hardest thing to do is admit (even to ourselves) how we could have done things differently.  This reflection gives us the knowledge that, in the future, we have more control if we want a more satisfactory result.

    • Thank you for your comment! On this website, I try to keep my posts short and concise. I do have a blog post that goes into more detail on subjects such as this – https://olivebranchretreat.com/about/blog/. Basically, I am saying that if you take credit for those things you may perceive as wrong, you should give yourself as much credit when you do things right. It is good to do both because blaming others for what goes wrong does not help you grow.

  14. First off I want to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to
    ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you
    center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I have
    had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
    I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost just trying to figure
    out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Many thanks!

    • I meditate daily first thing in the morning. The time you feel is lost is actually very useful. Even if you put something out that is not what you want, it is a good starting point. Later, you can go back and revise.
